We know you probably have questions. And we’re here to help. Below are some of the common ones we get on our campers, the ordering process and so on. But if you don’t get your question answered, we’re just a phone call away and happy to help.
The blackout package changes the interior and exterior of the sleeping platform and cab access bulkhead from white FRP (Fiberglass Reinforced Polypropelene) to black FRP. This cosmetic change is purely aesthetic, as the material remains the same, but offers a color match that some customers find particularly appealing.
Please note: The roof remains white, even with the Blackout Package, to maintain a brighter interior and reduce heat absorption.
The “Custom Wiring to Customer Supplied Battery” package includes the adapters needed to interface with nearly any battery solution. While we do not wire the electrical components of the Tune M1 to fuse blocks, we are able to run the lights, fan, heater, and solar to nearly any of the options that are available on the market. Please feel free to reach out if you have additional power related questions.
The Tune M1 was designed to stay on, but if you need to take it off, we will soon offer jack support brackets which allow for relatively easy removal and re-installation.
We anticipate a reduction in your average gas mileage of 2-5 mpg when using the Tune M1, with larger engines experiencing a lesser impact. The extent of this impact will be heavily influenced by your driving habits.
The Tune M1 typically comes in between 450-550 pounds, depending on your truck and build. A 5’ Tacoma starts at 425 pounds, a full size truck will start around 475 pounds.
Our current lead time varies, but is typically around three months.
A $500 deposit starts the process. Once we receive your deposit, you will receive an email with a calendar link to book a meeting where we will go over the details of your build. Once we complete that meeting, we will send you a Purchase Order for signature and payment. From there, we will order all the parts for your build, and start building – one month prior to your targeted install month, we will reach out and offer you an installation date.
Each Tune M1 is custom built for your truck model. We support most popular brands and sizes; if you have any questions about your specific truck, give us a call.

The Tune M1 is built based on the bed length, bed width, and cab height of each truck. If all three of those measurements are within .5” of each other, we support swapping from one truck to another. Usually you can stay within the same brand of trucks, but changing from one brand to another is often not possible.
Yes. Your stock mirrors will always be wider than the Tune M1, so you don’t need to extend them in any way.
Yes. The Tune M1 has plenty of T-track on the roof to which you can attach your roof racks.
The Tune M1 mounts via clamps on the bed rails.
The Tune M1 will add 9.44 inches of width starting from the inside of your truck bed rail to the outside edge of your M1 with our patented WingWall design. Total width increase is dependent on bed rail width, but it is normally around 6” per side, a massive amount of additional volume for your comfort. This added width is what allows an east to west oriented queen-size bed platform as a standard feature on all mid-size and full-size trucks.
This question is highly dependent on your intended use case. We initially designed the Tune M1 for a stock Tacoma; because the lightweight design positions at least 60% of the weight in front of the rear axle, it does not sag any truck’s suspension like other campers would. If you have questions about recommended vehicle modifications, we are happy to make recommendations, or an overland specific vehicle outfitter can make the best recommendations for your particular needs.
The torque specification for our mounting hardware is 8ft/lb.
