Build Options & Add-ons
Built to weather the elements! At Tune Outdoor, we partner with tent manufacturers who have decades of experience manufacturing overlanding tents designed to handle harsh, high desert UV rays as well as torrential downpours. Our canopy boasts full seam-taped polyester with clean connections top and bottom to the aluminum frame for long-lasting operation and four-season usability.
The Tune M1 canopy features six 17” x 36” windows for 360 degrees of panoramic views. There are two on each side and one on each end with sewn-in No-See-Um mesh and zip-up fabric panels. With the direct outdoor access, industry-leading airflow creates exceptional livability.
The Tune M1 comes standard with two ⅛” thick aluminum side body panels and a rear-access body panel. The sides and rear panels open with gas struts providing all-directional bed access. Each side panel is lockable from the outside of the Tune M1. The rear-access body panel can be locked from inside or outside of the Tune M1.
Unique to the Tune M1, the larger the truck bed, the larger the side body panels. They are full panels - glass or aluminum. The amount of gear access grows with the size of the truck.
Architectural Glass
If you want a luxurious feel, check out the tempered, smoked ¼” thick architectural glass upgrade option. This allows both added connection to nature and a modern aesthetic.
Both types of awning panels, glass and aluminum, work with the same hurricane hinge that allows for easy replacement by two sets of hands. Awning doors can be swapped out in under 10 minutes. Own a summer set and a winter set or different doors with different accessories for various types of adventures.
The Blackout Package replaces standard white FRP panels for both the bed platform and the bulkhead behind the cab with sleek, matte black FRP panels. It does not include the roof, where the translucent white panels improve livability and keep heat down. The Blackout Package upgrade is perfect for those seeking a darker look for their trucks or to more closely match the darker truck exteriors.
The Slider Window allows both visibility through the rear awning panel, if glass and not aluminum, and easy access to gear. It has a slider opening of 13.25” x 14”.
The Drop Down Cab Access Window fully folds down to allow for a larger pass-through to the cab. For 3rd generation Toyota Tundra owners or other trucks with the full roll down back window option, this can be a helpful addition.
Please note: the Drop Down Cab Access Window does not work with the layout of our heater system or battery mount because it cannot be fully removed. About 20 inches are needed behind the window to allow it to fold down.
Approximate Queen Bed
The mid-size truck sleep platform is 72” x 60”, comfortably sleeping two 6’ adults horizontally (East-West). The full-size truck sleep platform is 78”x 60”, comfortably sleeping two 6’6” adults horizontally (East-West).
King-Size Extender
For taller people or those who prefer more space, the Slide Extender modifies the sleeping space to support a longer vertical (north-south) layout.
It creates an approximate king size sleeping space (mid-size: 72” x 80” and full-size: 78” x 80”).
Hest Dually Mattress
The comfort of your home mattress comes in a portable, durable, 4” foam that fits the Tune M1 perfectly with an additional couple of inches for compressed bedding. The multi-layer enhanced memory foam design provides optimal body alignment, pressure point relief, temperature control, and insulation value.
Hest King-Size Extender
Add on the Custom Hest extension (20” x 72” or 20” x 78” depending on a mid-size or full size truck) to fully support a larger sleeping platform.
Goal Zero Yeti 1500
Add reliable power to your camper with the Goal Zero Yeti 1500 watt battery/inverter system. This is a go-to source for van conversions and other high-power camping uses. If you intend to add a heater, a fridge, or, if you simply want more power for long backcountry stays, this unit is an effective workhorse with both adapter options and amp-surge advantages.
For typical camping use, including fan, heater, lighting, and charging personal devices, the Yeti 1500 can last up to 4 days when power is managed efficiently. For more detailed power draw specifications, visit Goal Zero's website.
Custom Wiring
We run extra wire from the fan and light to the battery/inverter location, hide the wires, add T-Track Covers and provide adaptors for your customer-supplied battery.
Goal Zero Mounting Bracket
Our proprietary, powder-coated aluminum Mounting Bracket attaches next to the Cab Slider and below the bed platform so that the power is up off the bed floor and stabilized for travel. The bracket can be mounted on either side of the Cab Slider.
Please note: our Goal Zero Mounting Bracket may not fit other battery/inverters. Please measure against the specs below. 15.375”x11” base dimensions.
Our Solar Power Kit provides clean and efficient solar energy for your off-grid adventures. These flexible ETFE solar panels fit the Tune M1 roof cleanly connecting via standard MC4 and Anderson PowerPole connectors through our Solar Port to your power source. Built to withstand tough conditions, these panels offer durability and nearly double the lifespan of many commodity panels in the marketplace. Lightweight and space-saving, achieving efficiencies of 15–25%, they excel in diverse environments.
Please note: We offer 220-watt panels for mid-size trucks and 265-watt panels for full size trucks. These panels maximize the usable roof space while avoiding shade from a roof vent.
Truma Heater
Our Truma Varioheat Eco Heater provides quick and easy propane heat for your Tune M1. The compact, lightweight system mounts to the driver side of your vehicle and supports winter-based excursions up to 11,000 feet in elevation. Plus, the Truma Heater thermostat makes it easy to precisely set a temperature. This allows for a lower temperature to be kept while you are out, easily heating the space quickly when you return.
LPG Tank Mount
Our design creates a secure and sleek propane holder that attaches firmly to the Tune M1 T-track located on the outer, rear driver’s side corner of your camper. The custom bracket ensures a low profile and it stays clear of the rear awning door. The latch is padlock-compatible and allows you to quickly attach/fill 5 pound or 10 pound capacity propane tanks.
Please note: We also have a right-side LPG tank mount on sale as an accessory. This is not compatible with our heater location, but can be used with other accessories you have or as storage for a second tank.
LPG 10 Pound Capacity Propane Tank
Provides a lasting and reliable source of fuel for your heater kit and other uses. It is DOT approved and powder-coated for long-lasting exterior protection.
Insulation Pack
The Insulation Pack adds warmth during the winter months and helps cool down your camper during the summer months. The insulation velcros top and bottom to all four sides of the canopy to improve your Tune M1 temperature barrier while still maintaining access to the four side windows. The insulation pack can remain attached when the unit is collapsed.
Our MaxxAir Roof Vent disperses the air in your camper and keeps it circulating. This helps prevent condensation buildup and ventilates your camper.
If you plan to run a heater or cook inside, a fan is critical for safety and odor management. We tested leading fans and found the MaxxAir series to be the best for performance, reliability and ease of installation/usage. This fan can also be opened and operated during a rainstorm with no fear of getting wet, and you can leave it on it while your truck is in motion.
Deployed at lightning-fast speed and compatible with our Universal Awning Mount, the Kammok Crosswing is the optimal awning option to pair with the Tune M1 based on its weight, easy operation and modular simplicity. With a quick pull, you can have immediate shade from the sun and protection from rain.
