About us

The Origin of Tune Outdoor

Kris started a search for the perfect truck camper while melding his design and fabrication skillset with his love for the outdoors. The product had to be seamless to his life, and he wanted something that would let him sleep in ski resort parking lots, get to the best downhill trails, and head out on epic road trips quickly without compromising space for his gear or use of his truck bed. When he couldn’t find what he was looking for on the market, he started brainstorming something new and innovative.
As he began formulating what this dream camper could look like and do, the idea for the Tune M1 started to take a shape—something rugged, spacious, adaptable, and in harmony with all types of adventures.  Digging deeper, Kris saw an antiquated RV market and wanted to build something fresh—a modern truck camper that spoke to people who lived for more than just gear-carrying convenience.

This idea of freedom, flexibility, and adventure was at the heart of what would become Tune M1.

“in harmony with all types of adventures”

Building the Team

As COVID appeared and started changing mindsets and schedules, Kris turned to Sean, a long time business mentor and outdoor industry vet, to help shape the idea. Sean asked the tough questions—ones that helped refine the vision and make it stronger. And they got to work on making this dream a reality.
With the groundwork laid, Bruno joined the team. With his passion for rugged, backcountry innovation and having already successfully grown his own outdoor outfit, Backcountry Access, Bruno's knowledge was invaluable.

Next, Broc joined as lead engineer, helping bring the designs to life.

Ultimately, Robert took on operations to ensure everything ran smoothly.
Tune Outdoor would not be the company it is today without the dedicated vision of its founders and their diligent search to put together a team as equally as dedicated to their mission.  Tune now boasts 25 focused and customer-centric team members who share the founder's passion for nature, innovative product and business design as well as adventure.

The Tune Difference

The Tune M1 was built with one guiding principle: real adventurers need real versatility.

It wasn’t enough to have a camper; it needed to be lightweight, aesthetically pleasing, modular and configurable. Its topper-style design kept the truck bed accessible for gear, which is key to the lives Kris and the founders lead. Its WingWall design and modern materials with T-track functionality made it work in many ways for many applications. From carrying minimalist climbing racks to backcountry mountain biking basecamp setups, the Tune M1 allows adventurers to load up and go.

Moments That Matter

The Tune community is full of people with different backgrounds and passions, and the spirit of adventure unites them all. From families on their first road trip with a newborn to line workers traveling across the country to maintain essential services, the Tune M1 is more than just a camper—it's a part of our owners' life fabric and memories.

After getting Tune M1 installed, a couple parked just around the corner from our install bays. As we watched from the office window, they walked towards each other with the biggest smiles, shared an embrace, and jumped up in excitement. They climbed into their truck and drove away—on to adventuring. We celebrate our part in these experiences.

The Tune Outdoor Community

Tune Outdoor is a community. It radiates from a small team, rooted in Golden, Colorado, passionate about helping people dream, create and realize unforgettable experiences. We keep our customer service personal—human, not transactional—because we know that for our customers, the Tune M1 isn’t just a camper; it’s a gateway to the moments they dream about making them a reality.
